The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Delaware County is a nonprofit organization that provides support, education and advocacy for persons with mental illness and their families and friends in Delaware County.
We work side by side with those affected by and/or living with mental illness to understand, accept, cope with, and overcome the challenges of mental illness. The organization focuses on reducing stigma, promoting better quality of care, as well as protecting the rights and interests of citizens with mental illness, particularly those who cannot speak for themselves, by advocating for policies at the local, state and national levels that accomplish these objectives.
NAMI also promotes suicide awareness and suicide prevention education in Delaware County.
